Recycling for Band Uniforms
The Beatrice High School Band is in need of new band uniforms, and they are finding a clean
and environmentally healthy way to raise the money to do so.
The band is recycling computer monitors, old televisions, old appliances and things you can’t
normally throw in a recycling bin to raise money to buy new uniforms, which are shown all
around the school on posters.
The uniforms cost $55,000-60,000 So far the band has raised $48,000 since August.
Mr. Mathis, Beatrice High School Band director, said, “The old ones are about 16 years old and the lifespan for uniforms is about 10 years, they’ve held up well but we really need these new ones.”
