Alma Cecelia Linscott is a 1949 graduate of BHS. Cecelia continued her education with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduating in 1953 with high distinction. When her children were growing up, the Girl Scouts became a passion serving on the local level as a Scout leader for numerous years, Central New York Girl Scout Executive Committee, and receiving a number of awards by the national organization. She is active on the local level by serving on many local organizations, Meals on Wheels, Eleanor Roosevelt Loan Fund Committee, and the first leader of the Ithaca branch of the Church of World Services assisting over 400 refugee families from many different lands to find sponsors and employment in the Ithaca area. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Ithaca Rotary Club.
