You Have What It Takes - As a Foster Grandparent you’re a role model, a mentor and a friend.  You help children learn to read, provide one on one tutoring and guide children at a critical time in their lives.  Put simply you give the kind of comfort and love that set a child on the path toward a successful future.

About the program

Volunteers over the age of 55 are placed in classrooms and work one-on-one with children who have special needs. Volunteers receive stipends and can volunteer up to 40 hours per week. This program is offered in partnership with Cornhusker United Way and AmeriCorps Seniors.

We Serve

Senior individuals looking to get out of the house and/or supplement their income. Since this is an income-based program, people on fixed income typically qualify.
